Program Details

The University of Central Florida offers an online sociology degree, the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Sociology, which emphasizes thoughtful examination of social issues.  The purpose of exploring society through various courses is to increase students’ social awareness and the ability to employ a sociological perspective to interpret social behavior.  The curriculum provides the critical thinking, research, and analytical skills needed to understand the complexities of human behavior.  Courses focus on such areas as law and deviance, diversity and social inequality, crime, and more, challenging students to broaden their appreciation of the human experience.  Graduates are prepared to create innovative solutions to some of the most pressing modern problems and have the skills needed to explore a research question from the beginning conceptualization to the presentation of findings.
