Master of Science in Education in Reading

Program Details

University of Central Arkansas offers an online Master of Science in Education in Reading. Throughout this program, students work with each other to develop the skillsets to become literacy coaches or reading specialists. Careers with this degree involve working with struggling readers and writers, and helping them improve their skills.

Requirements

  • Requires one face-to-face meeting
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7 (4.0 scale) OR at least a 3.0 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate study
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on any graduate course work taken at another accredited institution
  • GRE or GMAT test scores, if applicable
  • PRAXIS test scores for reading specialist (for licensure only)
  • Valid Arkansas educator license (if seeking licensure in Arkansas) or two letters of reference
  • Other program-specific admission requirements may apply
