Program Details

University of Central Arkansas offers an online Master of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences degree. With this education, students are prepared for careers in education, business, industry, healthcare, or government through the skillsets learned. Students can select one of the following tracks to better suit their goals:

  • Clothing, Textiles, & Fashion
  • Nutrition & Foods
  • General Family & Consumer Sciences


  • Requires from 30-36 credits for completion
  • Baccalaureate degree in Family and Consumer Sciences or an allied area
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7 (4.0 scale) OR at least a 3.0 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate study
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA on any graduate course work taken at another accredited institution
  • Satisfactory scores on the GRE OR valid standard educator license OR proof of National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification OR proof of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification
