Program Details

The online Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Systems Technology (GIST) program focuses on professional GIS and applied GIS, which are vital for students looking to obtain jobs right out of college, and the program is based on the U.S. Department of Labor’s Geospatial Technology Competency Model so students have a clear path to their careers upon graduation.  The curriculum balances GIST fundamentals with key growth areas and emphasizes cutting-edge coursework in cartography, geo-visualization, web and mobile applications, and open source programming.  Graduates have the tools to map their own paths and are prepared for a wide range of career options ranging from app developers to volcanologists.
