With this online special education degree you will prepare for a career helping a growing part of the student population, those with special needs. Help children in grades K-12 with physical, emotional, mental, or learning disabilities. The curriculum consists of interdisciplinary courses that are rigorous and innovative. Learn about early intervention and preschool curriculum and methods, collaborative processes, technology applications, physical and healthcare support, lesson planning, and positive behavioral supports. 

Two programs are available depending on your background:

  • Master of Arts in Education in Special Education with Collaborative Teacher Concentration is for those with a bachelor’s degree and Class B certification
  • Alternative Master of Arts in Education in Special Education with Collaborative Teacher Concentration is for those who have an undergraduate degree in a field other than education and without teacher certification
