Master of Arts in Education in Early Childhood Education

Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Education in Early Childhood Education program prepares individuals for careers as highly qualified preschool or kindergarten teachers.  The curriculum provides skills and knowledge in theories on child development, developmental reading, primary math methods, teaching pedagogy, classroom management, and other concepts and skills that are critical to success as classroom teachers.

  • Pre and Early Reading
  • Instructional Methods
  • Teaching with Technology

Requirements

  • Most or all content delivered online with the potential of few on-campus meetings
  • Requires from 31-34 credits for completion
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
  • MAT or GRE scores
  • Essay
  • Resume/CV
  • Three recommendations
  • Class B teaching certification through Alabama or an approved non-resident equivalent
