Education Specialist in Early Childhood Education

Program Details

The online Education Specialist in Early Childhood Education program prepares individuals for careers as highly qualified preschool or kindergarten teachers.  The curriculum provides skills and knowledge in theories on child development, developmental reading, primary math methods, teaching pedagogy, classroom management, and other concepts and skills that are critical for success as classroom teachers.

Courses may include:

  • Curriculum Projects
  • Readings in Teaching and Learning
  • Problems and Issues in Education
  • Introduction to Educational Research Design

Requirements

  • Most or all content delivered online with the potential of few on-campus meetings
  • Requires from 30-33 credits for completion
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution or higher
  • Official transcripts from all colleges attended
  • Valid Alabama master's level professional educator certificate in Early Childhood Education (Class A) or approved equivalent
  • Other criteria as required by the specific program
