Program Details

The online Master of Education in Music Education Studies program is designed for individuals who wish to be leaders in music education but are not seeking teaching certification.  The curriculum provides the tools necessary to achieve professional goals by integrating digital technologies to enhance music learning while also placing the value of music at the core of each student’s curriculum.  Educators will learn about current ideas in assessment that set direction for the teaching profession, curriculum development patterns to address contemporary demands, Music Learning Theory, and the psychology of learning as an overarching framework for active music making.  Coursework also covers research and policy that assist in informed advocacy and strategies for making the most of students’ music time.
