Program Details

UT Permian Basin offers the online MPA. This degree is designed to help working professionals move up or make a shift into the public or nonprofit sector. Earning your this degree is the first step in maximizing the impact you have in your community. This program equips you with the knowledge and skills you need for management and director opportunities!

Students will develop competencies for public and nonprofit management and leadership in areas such as:

  • Public policy formation, implementation and evaluation
  • Organizational design and administration
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Analytical techniques
  • Human resources
  • Ethics


  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the United States or proof of equivalent
  • An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better (4.0 scale) in the last 60 credit hours
  • The equivalent of three or more years of full-time professional experience in public, nonprofit, or for-profit organizations OR GRE Scores of 295 or above (verbal and quantitative combined)
  • Three letters of recommendation
