Program Details

The University of Tennessee-Knoxville’s Aerospace and Defense MBA program is a nationally ranked degree program for high-potential professionals and decision makers in the aerospace and defense industries. Candidates have at least five years of experience in the field.

The program uses a combination of residence periods on the University of Tennessee-Knoxville campus and a distance-learning curriculum. The proprietary High Compression LearningSM method delivers a concentrated, information-packed curriculum that gives students all the tools they need in the shortest possible amount of time. This curriculum consists of residence periods on the University of Tennessee-Knoxville campus, one global immersion trip, and distance-learning sessions. It's a lockstep program, so students and their classmates will move through the same coursework at the same pace. Rather than offering electives, the program integrates all business disciplines into one holistic course of study called the Executive Core.


A four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent. A minimum GPA of 2.7, or a 3.0 during the senior year of undergraduate study. Previous graduate work (including foreign degrees) must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4-point scale or equivalent. However, a strong record of professional or educational accomplishment may be considered as part of a GPA waiver request. Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores. Students are exempt from the GMAT requirement if they already have a graduate degree. They may be exempt if they have more than 10 years of managerial experience and an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
