Master of Education in Early Childhood Education (Licensure)

Program Details

The online Master of Education in Early Childhood Education program meets licensure requirements for national and state early childhood education for PreK-3, preparing current teachers and other human service professionals to prepare them for emerging needs in the workforce.  This program is for professionals without backgrounds in early childhood but who are interested in establishing careers in the field.  Two tracks are offered:  P-3 Early Childhood Education Endorsement, which supports graduates focusing on teaching in grades P-3, and Early Childhood Career Advancement, which supports graduates focusing on working in community-based early childhood programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Letter of intent
  • Current resume
  • Official transcripts from all previous institutions attended
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • At least one (two if undergraduate GPA is below 3.0) of the following: official GRE or MAT scores OR MA/MEd/MS GPA of 3.0 or higher and an official transcript from the institution that awarded this degree OR 500-word essay OR national board certification
  • Background check and screens required for licensure applicants
