The University of Alabama offers the online Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling, a program where students are taught how to provide quality counseling services for individuals with disabilities and their families.
Rehabilitation counselors provide the following services to help those with disabilities meet personal, social, vocational, psychological and quality-of-life goals:
- individual and group counseling
- vocational assessment
- case management
- assistive technology
While enrolled in the program, you will enjoy active learning opportunities and a curriculum complete with live class lectures and clinical experiences. Upon graduation you will be prepared to work in public and private settings, rural and urban communities and address a diverse array of needs.
An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher. A minimum of 300 on the combined verbal and quantitative sections of the revised GRE (a score of 1000 if taken prior to August 2011) or a score no lower than the 50th percentile on the MAT.
