Program Overview

The Fox School of Business offers undergraduate students the opportunity to complete their bachelor’s degree education with an accelerated online Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The online degree is designed for busy working professionals who have already earned previous college credits.

The online BBA offers students a curriculum with the option of several concentrations; students can choose to focus their BBA education in the areas of: Accounting, Business Management, Legal Studies and Marketing. The area of Legal Studies intends to prepare graduates for entry into the related fields of criminal justice, law, paralegal, politics, political science and government. The specialized curriculum is designed to build on already learned foundations while also introducing students to theories, roles, and responsibilities required of professionals in the industry.

Legal studies are a vital part of many business entities, private organizations, and government agencies. Students seeking to finish their bachelor education with the concentration on Legal Studies may use the degree designation for immediate entry as paralegals, legal assistants, court administration or as the foundation for additional education pursuits at a masters or doctorate level in law school. The curriculum is comprised of core legal courses and the required general education courses to earn the BBA degree. The core legal courses introduce students to legal concepts through the use of actual court cases, trial simulations, negotiations, and other skills that stress written and oral communication.

A higher education in the area of legal studies may strengthen a student’s awareness of essential concepts of criminal behavior and legalities behind judicial action. Successful students may also combine the concentration with previous experiences or careers to gain the most personal and professional growth. Students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the content required to sit for the Law School Admissions Test as well as join the University’s Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity to maintain resources and gain employment opportunities after successful completion of the BBA degree program.
