    School Overview

Prior to the Civil War, Methodist leaders established Taylor University in 1846 in order to provide an educational facility for women. Within two years, Taylor had already emerged as a co-educational institution. As the University grew, it initiated a correspondence course through the postal service in 1938. Since then, Taylor’s distance learning program continues to evolve, updating with technology.

Today, Taylor University Online continues to operate as a branch of the Christian, private not-for-profit Taylor University located in Upland, Indiana. Students have various options for an online education, including a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degrees, a teaching program, certificates, and the choice to enroll in single courses.
