Program Overview

Tarleton State University offers an online Master of Science (MS) degree in Manufacturing Quality and Leadership ideal for employees who have baccalaureate degrees in technical and non-technical areas to gain knowledge to be exceptional in all facets of manufacturing.  The program stresses leadership skills so that advancement into leadership positions becomes a reality.  Another purpose of the program is to address quality and technology productivity issues in manufacturing to help standardize performance procedures.  

The MS in Manufacturing Quality and Leadership is a 30-hour program consisting of 24 hours in MQL courses as well as a Thesis or Non-Thesis option that accounts for six hours.  The Non-Thesis option requires that two additional MQL courses be completed.


Acceptance into the College of Graduate studies requires that a transcript, an application, an essay and GRE test scores be evaluated.  In the case that the applicant’s undergraduate degree was not in a business or a manufacturing related field or the lack of professional experience, some leveling courses should be expected.

    Tarleton State University is a state university, located in Stephenville, Texas, that is well-known for their horse breeding program and innovative teacher education. Founded in 1899, Tarleton State is known for having one of the largest and oldest public school improvement partnerships helping more than 50 area school districts. In 1917, Tarleton became a member of the Texas A&M University System and, in 1959, it became a four-year degree granting institution. In 1973, the school gained status as a university. Today, TSU is one of the country’s fasting growing public universities and is recorded as the second largest institution in the Texas A&M system.
