Program Details
Taft College offers an online Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education for those seeking a foundation in early care, education, and family relations. In addition, this program is beneficial for anyone with children in their lives, from parents and teachers to law enforcement and social workers. You will learn about effective guidance and interaction strategies that support all children’s social learning, identity, and self-confidence and to design and implement environments and activities that support positive, development play and learning outcomes of all children. Graduates are able to:

- Promote partnerships between programs, teachers, families, and communities
- Integrate understanding of the needs, characteristics, and influences on child development from birth to age eight in relation to high quality care and education
The curriculum is designed to provide a solid foundation on which to build an Early Childhood Education major at a four-year institution. With this degree, students are guaranteed transfer to a CSU as a junior.
