The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree offered by Stevenson University is available to students in a completely online format. This accelerated program is intended for adults who work and have completed some education, whether through an associate degree program or otherwise, and now wish to complete their education in order to advance their career prospects. Since this is a degree completion program, a student can complete this course of study in approximately two years.
Up to 90 credits will be accepted from a regionally accredited four-year institution and up to 70 credits will be accepted from a regionally accredited two-year institution.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration aims to provide its students with the skills and knowledge needed to meet the challenges and responsibilities of a career in the business world. Students will understand how a business functions, what the function of a business is, and how to integrate or maintain those functions. Through a liberal arts format, Stevenson University seeks to equip its students with the foundations of a well-rounded education. This means that students in this program learn knowledge, skills, critical thinking, analyzing information, and how to utilize technological skills. These competencies are paramount to being able to make decisions, conduct research related to business, analyze information, and communicate effectively. This program includes not only business courses, but also courses in liberal arts and sciences.
This program requires its students to complete 120 hours of credit courses. The major requirements of this program are: Principles of Management, Business Writing, Organizational Behavior, Analysis of the Managerial Environment, Operations Management, Business Capstone Seminar, Principles of Marketing, Principles of finance, Business Law, and a Business Capstone Seminar. Other requirements include: Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Economics-Micro, Economics-Macro, Windows and Office Applications, Microcomputer Concepts and Applications, Advanced Microcomputer Concepts, Basic Statistics, Business Ethics, and others.
There are some admissions requirements for this program. An individual interested in enrolling must submit all official academic transcripts from previous academic work. This transcript must have at least 15 transferable credits and convey that the student had earned a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. An individual must also have at least two years of professional experience in this field. It is optional to submit a resume, a letter of recommendation, and a writing sample.
