The Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies degree program from Sterling College is offered through the college’s Theology and Ministry departmen. This degree program is offered to students who wish to learn more and develop academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. This program covers topics such as understanding who Jesus Christ is and what the mission He established for the Church.

The Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies prepares students to assume leadership roles in churches, Christian schools, camps, para-church ministries, missionary organizations, and Christian publishing companies. This program can also prepare a student for further educational pursuits. It focuses on topics such as the Bible and its origins, church history, and basic Christian doctrine from an evangelical and reformed perspective. These studies are intended to influence a student into growing in their faith and dedication to servanthood. Students will learn about the relationships between the church, the community, and the people you come into contact with every day.
With a degree in Theological Studies, a student can pursue careers as a youth pastor, children’s pastor, missionary, research assistant, senior pastor, chaplain, or writer.
The courses offered by Sterling College that students are required to take include, but are not limited to: Foundations in Servant Leadership, Basic Christian Doctrine and the Holy Spirit, Philosophical Concepts and Christian Thought, Ethics, Introduction to New Testament Greek, and both Old and New Testament Studies. Students enrolled in this program are also required to take a research methods and thesis course. These courses and more make up the 64 required credit hours needed to graduate from this program.
This degree program is offered to students either in-house or completely online. Sterling College emphasizes this alternative way of acquiring a degree for those who wish to gain an education, but do not have the time to pursue a full-time college schedule. Students can also take advantage of the Guaranteed Admission Advantage offered by the college, which means that some students can transfer into Sterling with credits already acquired from an associate degree from another accredited institution.
