Program Details

If you would like to give back to your community in times of emergency or after disaster strikes, consider an online Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Safety and Emergency Management.  This online BAS degree will enable you to work within very diverse facets to protect the public.  You can work on the federal, state or local level, in government or private industry, or for colleges and universities.  The State College of Florida at Manatee-Sarasota offers two tracks for this degree:

  • Public Service Administration
  • Homeland Security

Either of these degree tracks will prepare you for leadership roles within your organization whether you are a first-responder or government planner. The Public Service Administration track focuses on crisis planning, policy and management.  The Homeland Security track focuses on personnel management in times of disaster.  Coursework will also prepare you for further study should you decide to pursue a graduate degree.

  • 2.0 GPA
  • SAT/ACT scores (if less than 2 years old) or placement test scores
