Graduate Certificate in Energy Engineering &Technologies
Stanford University

Program Details

The online Graduate Certificate in Energy Engineering & Technologies program prepares students for careers that will help them find novel ways to generate energy when our non-renewable energy sources run out, maximize this new energy’s efficiency, and maintain our environment.  The curriculum includes advanced coursework in the molecular basis and engineering of new energy technologies and explores the fundamentals, challenges, and entrepreneurial opportunities at the intersection of chemistry and engineering.  Students will learn about the challenges and opportunities presented by energy supply and consumption, processes of heterogeneous catalysis as they relate to energy, applications for engineering soft materials in fuel cells, technologies used in microbial bioenergy and biofuels, and practices for electrochemistry for renewable energy technologies.
