Program Details

The Gifted Teacher Advanced Certificate Program allows individuals involved in education to specialize in teaching exceptionally gifted and talented students. Because those with exceptional learning capabilities require a different approach in the classroom, it is important for there to be teachers with the appropriate knowledge and skills in these areas. The program will help prepare students for the Gifted Content Specialty Test, which is required for a Gifted Certificate Extension, besides 12 credits of graduate courses (which can be taken from this program). This extension certificate is required for any teacher in New York to teach in a gifted classroom.
