The Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grades Education is a secondary education degree online from St. Andrews University for those interested in teaching grades 6-9.  The program is designed to teach you how to expand middle grade learner skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creative problem solving using an integrated approach to curriculum objectives.  You will gain the knowledge, skill, and disposition needed to provide the developmentally appropriate learning experiences for this age group through the general education curriculum while also learning how to guide future students towards participation in society and towards careers.  Courses develop an awareness and competency in applying basic principles of curriculum planning and implementing them to meet the diverse needs of students in grades 6-9.  Graduates are prepared to use technological tools for planning, instruction, assessment, and data management, have skills in professional collaboration and leadership, and will understand the school as an institution.
