Program Details

The online Early Childhood Preschool Certificate prepares students to work with preschool-aged children, ages 3-5, in diverse learning environments, by combining learned theories, competency-based knowledge, and practice in actual settings with children. Coursework includes child growth and development, physical/nutritional needs of preschool children, safety issues in the care of preschool children, care and guidance, communication skills with families and children, curriculum, and other related topics. Graduates are prepared to plan and implement developmentally appropriate preschool programs in early childhood settings including child development and child care programs, public and private schools, recreational centers, Head Start Programs, and more.
