Program Details

The online Bachelor of Science in Social Studies and History Education program is designed for educators who want to teach social studies and history in middle and secondary schools and leads toward teacher certification.  The curriculum covers deep subject areas in history and social studies, including economic history, world civilizations, early America, near eastern history, medieval history, and modern history.  Educators will also learn to design and implement instruction and assessment based on state curriculum guidelines; create positive, productive classroom environments; and develop appropriate classroom management strategies.  Coursework springs from a Christian world view, integrating faith and learning.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or GED is required
