Program Details

The online Master of Education in Classroom Leadership program is designed for advanced professional development of educators that helps educators excel in their own classrooms and when conducting educational research.  The curriculum concentrates on an educational leadership framework that supports the advancement, application, and integration of relevant theory and practice within the classroom with a focus on philosophical and psychological learning theory, appropriate instructional strategies, critical thinking, contemporary issues, and assessment.  Educators develop skills in classroom management, curriculum, technology, leadership, and research.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on all undergraduate course work or on the final 60 hours of undergraduate course work (GRE accepted for students not meeting GPA requirement)
  • Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended; both undergraduate and graduate
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Valid teaching certificate from the State of South Carolina or equivalent out-of-state certification
  • Current employment with a minimum of one year experience as a teacher such that the teacher’s classroom can serve as a “laboratory” for the completion of course requirements
