Program Details

The online Master of Education in Administration and Supervision program is designed for educators who plan to become principals at the building level and supervisors at the building and district level.  The curriculum provides a deeper understanding about topics which include educational leadership, school operations management, public and community relations, ethics, and advanced educational research.  Courses include:

  • Ethics in Educational Leadership 
  • Educational Leadership for Curriculum and Instruction 
  • Educational Leadership for Instructional Effectiveness 
  • Cultivating a Positive School Climate
  • Public and Community Relations


  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on all undergraduate course work or on the final 60 hours of undergraduate course work (GRE accepted for students not meeting GPA requirement)
  • Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended; both undergraduate and graduate
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Valid teaching certificate from the State of South Carolina. Nonresidents will need to contact their state department of education to verify if this degree meets necessary licensing requirements.
  • Current employment with a minimum of one year experience as a teacher such that the teacher’s classroom can serve as a “laboratory” for the completion of course requirements
  • Background statement (supplied by the university) of disclosure concerning all prior convictions including felonies and misdemeanors
