Program Overview

Offered by Southeastern Technical College, the Marketing Management Diploma with a specialization in Marketing Management program was created to prepare students for success in marketing and management positions in their current or intended place of employment. The program may be beneficial to students that have already earned or plan to pursue an degree program in marketing, management, or another field entirely. Students with backgrounds in other disciplines can benefit from the additional training in marketing and management provided by this program, without having to commit to degree program.

It is the goal of this program to expose students to problems and contributing factors associated with the management of marketing in a variety of business settings. This includes covering topics such as the increasing use of the internet and social media, the impact of globalization, and various social and ethical responsibilities to employees, customers, and communities. An experienced faculty instructs students in ways of thinking, learning, and applying the included marketing concepts in realistic working situations.

To successfully complete the program, candidates are to earn a minimum of 58 hours of credit, which can usually be completed in a four semester period. Of the total credits, 10 come from work in the general education core, 36 from occupational courses, and 12 from the chosen specialization of Marketing Management. In addition to the required courses in this program, enrolled students have the option of completing either a marketing internship or practicum in order to gain direct experience. The practicum requires students to complete a supervised research project, while the internship gives students in-field experience at a location approved by the college.

    School Overview

    The story of today’s Southeastern Technical College begins in Emanuel County in 1963. That year, Swainsboro Area Vocational Technical School opened, made real through the efforts and support of the local legislators and citizens in the Emanuel County area. Swainsboro Area Vocational Technical School converted to state governance in 1987 and was renamed Swainsboro Technical Institute. The school became Southeastern Technical College in 1990.

    STC offers associate's degree programs, occupational certificates, and diplomas, many of which can be earned completely online.
