Southeastern Technical College
The Technical Certificate in Entrepreneurship, available through Southeastern Technical College, is designed to give students preparation in order to take on their own entrepreneurial endeavor. This program is available entirely online, allowing some flexibility in scheduling and the completion of assignments.
It is the goal of this program to prepare participants or owners of current or future start-up businesses for success by instructing them in aspects of management, marketing, and finance. Marketing has changed drastically with the growing influence and use of social media, globalization, and the emphasis of ethical responsibilities. Earning this certificate does not completely qualify students for starting a business, but rather, it is intended to aid candidates by giving them a foundation for future study or work. This certificate can also benefit students that already have a degree and seek to gain some entrepreneurship-specific training.
To complete the program, students must earn a total of 12 hours of credit, an amount that can generally be completed in one or two semesters. Of the total, nine hours come from required courses and three come from a list of restricted management and marketing options: either Principles of Management or Small Business Management. Principles of Management is a course that is broad in scope and is intended to aid students in gaining the supervisory and leadership skills necessary to become managers in a variety of settings. The Small Business Management option focuses more on the issues that managers face in a small business setting.

Swainsboro Area Vocational Technical School converted to state governance in 1987 and was renamed Swainsboro Technical Institute. The school became Southeastern Technical College in 1990.
STC offers associate's degree programs, occupational certificates, and diplomas, many of which can be earned completely online.
