Business Management Diploma
Southeastern Technical College
Offered by Southeastern Technical College, the Business Management Diploma program was created to prepare students for management and leadership positions in a variety of business settings. Graduates of this program will receive a Diploma in Business Management with a specialization in General Management. This program is designed to ready students for management in any setting or to be applied to current places of employment, rather than preparing individuals for theoretical management in a specific setting.
It is the goal of this program to introduce students to learning opportunities that will help them develop and reinforce occupational knowledge in order to bolster job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Though this program can prepare students with no other qualifications for entry-level employment, this degree is beneficial to students that already have an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in Business Administration or some other specialized field that seek management training in order to advance their or strengthen their current positions.
According to the college, a manager is a professional that supervises others, determines the daily priorities for a business or office, and coordinates teams in order to meet the goals set by a parent organization. These individuals should have or want to work towards having clear communication skills, analytical minds, and the ability to digest data quickly.
To complete this program, students must earn 49-50 hours of credit, a total that can typically be completed in four or five semesters. This program is able to be taken online, providing some flexibility to working professionals. Of the total, 10 hours come from general education courses and 39-40 from occupational courses in management, marketing, and accounting.

Swainsboro Area Vocational Technical School converted to state governance in 1987 and was renamed Swainsboro Technical Institute. The school became Southeastern Technical College in 1990.
