RN to Master of Science in Nursing / Nurse Administrator (RN-MSN)
The online RN to Master of Science in Nursing with the Nurse Administrator specialization provides an educational pathway for RNs to earn a master’s degree without taking a break from their profession. The Nurse Administrator specialization prepares nurses to enter leadership roles, of which their job may entail policy decisions, financial management, patient safety, quality of care, and other administrative and advanced nursing roles within the healthcare industry.
Students combine transfer credits, credits earned from an associate’s degree, with required core curriculum and specialization credits. Didactic instruction, practicums, and a summative project round out the degree program, in which students are able to earn a BSN and MSN. Fields of study include, but are not limited to: financial management, ethic and legal issues, palliative care, gerontology, caring for diverse communities, advanced nursing practices, management of healthcare systems, and quantitative skills in administration.
