Program Details

By completing 18 credit hours, students are able to earn a high school diploma and certificate in Homeland Security. Credit requirements include taking courses in math, science, social studies, and English, as well as career courses.

Smart Horizons Online Career School's flexible schedule allows working individuals to complete the program at their own pace. Offering a quality education to its students, Smart Horizon’s courses are taught online, which are available each day. Courses are taught by a team of certified teachers dedicated to helping students learn in a positive atmosphere promoting academic growth. Completing the Homeland Security program prepares students for employment as a compliance inspector, security officer, or baggage screener.

Students receive an education from an accredited school through Smart Horizons. To successfully earn their diploma and certificate, the students must complete all required coursework, and prepare a Career Portfolio. The Career Portfolio will need to contain the student's resume as well as cover letters. Smart Horizons practice rolling admissions, meaning students may begin the program at any time. Students can transfer in a maximum of 14 credits into the Homeland Security program.
