    School Overview

Founded in 1978, the private not-for-profit Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) first opened its doors in the historic Savannah Volunteer Guard Armory. Though the structure still remains vital to the campus, SCAD has expanded globally. The college has four physical campuses located in Atlanta, Savannah, Hong Kong, and Lacoste, France, as well as an eLearning program. The stated mission of SCAD is "to prepare talented students for professional careers, emphasizing learning through individual attention in a positively oriented university environment."

SCAD confers bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Students can pursue certificate, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs through SCAD eLearning. Courses at SCAD’s online campus mirror those of its physical campuses with “one-on-one attention” delivered by the same highly qualified instructors. Students have the option to complete their entire degree online, or blend eLearning with on-campus coursework.
