Program Details

San Juan College offers the online AAS in Health Information Technology. The program provides students with an understanding of computer software and technology that is involved with the management of health information. This degree equips students with the tools they need to participate in this growing and exciting career field.

Students will have the opportunity to explore topics in the following:

  • electronic health records
  • quality management
  • medical coding
  • legal issues
  • physiology
  • anatomy

Graduates of the program are eligible to take the American Health Information Management Association Registered Health Information Technician Exam.

Requirements

This degree program requires 63-64 credits for completion.

  • Official high school and/or college transcripts
  • Accuplacer placement test may be required
