Program Details

San Joaquin Valley College offers the online BS in Respiratory Therapy. The program is designed for Registered Respiratory Therapists who want to advance their career. This degree affords excellent opportunities for professional growth and development with the necessary education in leadership, education, research and critical care. Students will learn steps to move them forward in the field of respiratory care. The curriculum looks into projects and research in respiratory therapy.


This is a bachelor completion program. Students must enter the program with at least 70 transfer credits  (may include lower division respiratory care coursework).

  • Associate of Science degree in Respiratory Care, awarded by a regionally or nationally accredited institution with a CoARC or CAAHEP accredited program
  • Hold a current unencumbered credential licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), and current unencumbered licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in California or in the state of current employment
