Program Details

A Master of Science in Nursing prepares nurses for advanced practice roles. The Family Nurse Practitioner specialty covers the primary healthcare needs of patients of all ages. 

FNPs are equipped with the skills and knowledge to diagnose and manage acute and chronic illness while also focusing on health promotion, wellness, disease prevention, health education, and counseling. Practicum experiences are arranged in the student’s local area, with clinical specialties including pediatrics, women’s health, and family medicine. Graduates are eligible to sit for the ANCC or AANP Family Nurse Practitioner certification examination.

Students in this online FNP program learn how to:

  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, infections, and injuries
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests like lab work and x-rays
