Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Certification

Saint Joseph’s University has the approval of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of School Leadership and Teacher Quality to offer an Online Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing PK-12 certification program.
The curriculum of this certification was built to strengthen and expand your teaching skills, to help you prepare for the certification as well as help you develop new strategies to support learning and development of children with hearing loss.
The certification can be completed as stand-alone program (30 credits) or may be combined with a master’s degree, allowing you to earn a Master of Science in Education – Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing PK-12 certification (36 credits).

This program is designed to meet certification guidelines for teachers licensed in the state of Pennsylvania. Teachers and prospective students should inquire with their state licensing agency prior to enrollment.
