Program Overview

The Online Criminal Justice Master's at Saint Joseph’s University stresses theory and research, administration, and managing effective change within the criminal justice system.  The courses built within the MSCJ curriculum were designed to shape students’ knowledge in research and the latest trends in criminal justice as well as in administrative strategies. The 30-credit Criminal Justice curriculum requires the following four core courses:

  • Research Methods and Analysis
  • Criminology Theory
  • Ethics and Criminal Justice
  • Professional Writing for Law Enforcement

With six career-focused concentrations, coursework is optimized for student’s current and future CJ specialized aspirations. The six concentrations students can select from include:

  • General
  • Behavioral Analysis
  • Behavioral Management
  • Federal Law Enforcement
  • Homeland Security
  • Intelligence & Crime Analysis

Each concentration emphasizes criminological theory and research to provide you with foundational knowledge regarding the causes of crime and factors affecting it.

General Concentration – Cater your degree to your specific career goals by opting for general studies with a selection of courses from the other concentrations.​

All courses in our online Master of Science in Criminal Justice program are taught by faculty sourced directly from the Criminal Justice field. Our distinguished faulty ensure that students received the latest and most relevant MSCJ education that aligns with individual career goals. As an added bonus, three of our faculty are former or current board members who oversee the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam.
