The United States is going through a drastic increasing in dollars spent in the field of health care due to the aging of the baby boomer population, the increase in costs for medical services, and legal and government regulations increasing costs by mandating certain levels of service and quality. As part of the expansion of health care services in the United States, industries are developing to find ways to lower costs and improve care as health care grows. The health care industry and related fields are in need of knowledgeable and experienced professionals who are capable of taking on the responsibilities of leaders in the field. 

Saint Francis University offers an Online Master of Health Science degree for those seeking greater roles of responsibilities in the healthcare setting, and to expand their knowledge and career opportunities. The program is available entirely online, for the sake of the professionals seeking the degree. The schedule can be set entirely at the pace of the student, allowing for greater flexibility in the curriculum and the ability to complete the program without sacrificing their personal or professional schedules in order to do so, as would be required of the traditional classroom setting. 

The curriculum includes courses in research methodology, ethical issues in practice, health care systems management, a clinical residency project, leadership, strategies in health policy, issues in clinical practice, introduction to pharmacology, advanced pharmacology, communication for health care professionals, practicum for underserved, and persity in health care. The program does not end with a master’s thesis, but students will be required to take part in a capstone class which will test students on material from the entire curriculum.
