Master of Social Work / Advanced Standing
Rutgers University

Program Details

Rutgers University offers an online Master of Social Work degree with an Advanced Standing option.  This degree prepares students for professional roles in various human services and advanced social work practices.  You will gain an understanding of the many ways social work improves the lives and well-being of marginalized individuals, families, communities, and groups.  Graduates will assume administrative leadership roles in the state’s social welfare departments and agencies at all levels of government and in the voluntary sector.  This degree prepares skilled direct-service providers to function in both the public and private sectors of social welfare as well.

This online social work degree maximizes individualization of learning and student choice.  With flexible, asynchronous online programs, you can complete coursework around your schedule.  The curriculum is tailored by the student through global study options and the Violence Against Women and Children certificate.  After completing a clinical specialization, students will be able to enhance individual and group wellbeing through assessment, intervention, and evaluation.  Students can choose the Advanced Standing option if they have already earned a baccalaureate degree in social work from an accredited undergraduate social work program.
