Program Overview

Rowan University offers the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a degree that is designed for students who want to understand the scientific and research basis for the many diverse fields within psychology. This program follows the American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines for the undergraduate Psychology Major, which strives to make students “psychologically-literate citizens.” 

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be prepared to enter a broad spectrum of fields including the following:

  • human services (caseworker, social worker)
  • sales and marketing (customer service, human resources)
  • community activism (non-profits)

    Requirements

    A total of 120 division credits are required to complete the degree, including transfer credits and 60 upper division credits. 

    Official transcripts from all colleges attended (regardless of number of credits earned). Associate’s Degree (may be able to gain admittance with as few as 24 semester hours of transferable college credits). Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

    School Overview

    Rowan University was established in 1923 and continues today as a public institution located in the town of Glassboro, New Jersey. The school was founded as Glassboro Normal School. In the 1930s, the school became New Jersey State Teachers College at Glassboro, and then Glassboro College in 1958. In the 1970s, the school added more programs including business, communications and engineering. Finally, in 1997, the school changed to its present day name after a man named Henry Rowan and his wife Betty gave $100 million to the school.
