Rochester Institute of Technology offers an Advanced Certificate in Training, Design, and Assessment for students and managers interested in helping their business prosper by improving the quality of the human capital of the organization. Students in the program will learn how employees affect the success of the business and how managers interact and create plans to get employee development to meet the requirements and goals of the business activity. Through the program, students may learn how to train employees to perform at their highest efficiency, how to attract the most qualified candidates through recruitment, and how to retain the best employees.
The program will help prepare students for strategic training responsibilities by learning how to interact with the workforce to improve performance and retain the most qualified employees. The curriculum consists of 15 credit hours of courses which include human performance design and development, instructional design and technology, and program assessment and evaluation.
Students completing the certificate will be expected to meet the minimum criteria of professionals in the field of management as it relates to employee training, which includes the ability to understand and manage the dynamic relationship between employers, environments, and employees as part of the training and development of human capital, the knowledge of the theories and frames works of adult learning, cultural diversity, and motivation in education in business environments, to demonstrate a variety of effective training practices in planning, assessing, and teaching to improve employee morale and efficiency, and to utilize technology to leverage human capital through employee development plans.
