Program Overview

Rochester Institute of Technology offers a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing leadership for students interested in developing advanced knowledge and skill in manufacturing management and supply chain management. Students will learn about supply chain management operations, global manufacturing and operations, efficiency management, leadership activities and decision-making activities. Students will work to develop an understanding of how leadership impacts organizational efficiency and will develop their own leadership styles as they learn to inspire others and influence the future of organizations.

Students will learn and further their skills through a curriculum which involves classes that focus on specialized management education. Some of the classes include organizational behavior and leadership, systems and project management, and cost management in technical organizations.

Successful graduates should be able to indicate the ability to advance manufacturing ideas based on strategic foresight that align with driving forces that will shape future business activity and markets, to design manufacturing strategies and plans specific to the industry, to create technology innovation plans based on business needs that bring about improvements in supply chain management with manufacturing products, services and ideas that align with innovation theory, to develop preferred human resource systems and plans which meet the design needs of manufacturing and supply systems at the local and globalized levels, to use accounting and financial information for decision-making purposes in manufacturing design and business operations settings, and to expand operation plans and determine appropriate quality improvement strategies for product manufacturing and service delivery in diverse global cultures and environments.

    Students must hold a baccalaureate (or equivalent degree) from an accredited institution with a minimum 2.8 GPA and have at least two years of experience in a manufacturing-related organization or business environment.

    School Overview

    Founded in 1829, the private not-for-profit RIT initially served as a meeting hall for lectures and a library for the local community. Today, that community has expanded from a main campus in Rochester, NY to include two additional campuses, one in Eastern Europe and the other in Dubai.
