Customer Service Office Assistant - Certificate
Rochester Community and Technical College offers a Customer Service Office Assistant Certificate that prepares students for a large variety of customer service positions. Students receive the ability to successfully answer customer questions and solve customer problems. This program develops students' problem solving skills, such as analyzing, summarizing, and applying multiple procedures and guidelines. Students will also be trained to work with customers over the phone and in person.
This online program consists of 16 credit hours that can be completed in more than one term but less than one year. Full- and part-time schedules are available for courses and can be started any semester.
Students enrolled in the Customer Service Office Assistant program at Rochester Community and Technical College are required to complete General Education requirements, Professionally-Related Business requirements and Electives. Employment Strategies is a General Education course required for the program and is designed to enhance career and personal development. Professionally-Related Business requirements for the program include three-credit and one-credit courses. Computer Basics and Keyboarding for Computers are two courses in the program used to enhance computer skills that will be needed for a position in the customer service field. Other courses required include Human Relations in Organizations, Business Communications, Customer Service Skills and Concepts, and Developing an Electronic Portfolio. These courses are designed to further an enrolled student’s learning experience in the customer service field by providing the tools in order to skillfully interact with customers in a business setting.
