The online Associate in Science in Medical Administrative Assistant program prepares students to work as secretaries to surgeons or physicians in hospitals, clinics, or medical groups after receiving extensive training in medical terminology, office technology, and medical transcription. The curriculum includes courses in Written and Oral Communication, Critical Thinking, Natural Sciences or Mathematics/Logical Reasoning, History and the Social and Behavioral Sciences, Human Diversity, and Humanities and Fine Arts, Literature, Philosophy. Other coursework may include human relations, business communications, medical office procedures, and employment strategies.
