The Organizational Leadership with a focus in Leadership and Ethics certificate from Robert Morris University is an online program intended for individuals looking to strengthen their professional skills by acquiring the skills necessary to effectively participate in society’s organization. These skills include: the ability to anticipate, plan, reflect and act on programs and opportunities using information, negotiating, organizing resources, and understanding human behavior. Through courses required by this interdisciplinary program, a student will learn how to be not only a flexible leader, but also a flexible follower who is able to adapt to change.
This certificate program is compromised of three three-credit courses. The first course is an overview of what it means to be a leader and how ethics are involved in decision-making. The next two courses are in Organizational Leadership Skills. These courses are foundational in the process of influencing others, adapting to change, conveying ethical behavior, understanding organization culture and global perspectives, being able to communicate effectively, and using information to make decisions.
The purpose of gaining a certificate is to supplement a resume and skills set. Advancement toward a career ambition is the goal. Careers that are available for students who acquire this certificate include: adult instructor, corporate trainer, events coordinator, employee relations representative, marketing assistant, health care administrator, recruiter, human resource manager, and vocational counselor.

Robert Morris University is a private, not-for-profit institution located in Moon Township, which is a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The school was founded in 1921 as the Pittsburgh School of Accountancy. In 1962, the school purchased 230 acres which is at its current location. A short time later, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted the school permission to award associates degrees, and the school became Robert Morris Junior College. Around 2002, the university changed to its present day name.
