The Master of Science in Business Education online program offered by Robert Morris University is intended for students who wish to earn a secondary teaching certification in business or computer and information technology. The opportunity to teach business concepts and studies include positions in public, private, and corporate educational institutions. Educational concepts such as effective learning environments, improvement of instruction, and professional development are covered in this program. Students are required to choose a focus in an area of business certification. Options are available in a wide array of education and business administration classes.
With the help of a faculty advisor, a student is allowed to design a course of study through this program that best fits their career goals. This 30-credit-hour program requires students to take classes in four different sections of subject areas.
The first section, the core section, requires the following classes: Current Design / Assessment, Educational Statistics, and Educational Research Seminar. The Education Theory and Practice section requires Theories of Learning/Instruction and a class in Special Learning Needs. The Computers and Technology section involves three classes: Developing Instructional Materials Using Software, Integrating Instructional Technology, and Visual Basic Programming. Two addition open electives are also required. Students may use these open credits to take classes in a specific focus.
This program aims to engage its students in effective, advanced studies in areas relating to the learning environment. The Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) accredits this program. The Master of Science in Business Education offered by Robert Morris University can also lead to higher degrees such as a Doctorate.

Robert Morris University is a private, not-for-profit institution located in Moon Township, which is a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The school was founded in 1921 as the Pittsburgh School of Accountancy. In 1962, the school purchased 230 acres which is at its current location. A short time later, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted the school permission to award associates degrees, and the school became Robert Morris Junior College. Around 2002, the university changed to its present day name.
