Program Details

Roane State Community College offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in Geographic Information Systems to the online student.  Students will work with high-tech equipment, continuously studying new technologies and developing knowledge directly applicable to the workplace.  Studies will cover topics such as:

  • Statistics
  • Computer Applications
  • Internet Mapping

This is a 2+2 program, with credits applicable to a four-year bachelor’s degree.  Students will gain skills setting them apart in the field, including communication, project management, problem-solving, skills in analysis, programming, and more.  Graduates with this applied degree may find pursuable career paths in government, law enforcement, parks and recreation, areas of the military, and other opportunities as GIS analysts.
