Certificate of Completion in Digital Design
Rio Salado's Computer Technology program is designed to provide information and training on the use, application, and technological development of computers in a continuously changing electronic environment. More specifically, the Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Digital Design program is designed to prepare students to work with and design personal or professional graphic imagery. Courses focus on training the student in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, graphic design and publishing, multimedia technology, and project management.
The program emphasizes principles of art, and develops knowledge and skills required to solve design and compositional problems with graphics, streaming video and audio media, and virtual reality models. It is designed for both those seeking to enter a career in design and those already working in the field who wish to advance and update their knowledge and skills. Knowledge and skills gained in this program can be applied to such occupational areas as media production, marketing, graphic production, desktop publishing, multimedia, service bureau and customer service, and web page production. Some job titles include artist, photographer, designer, and freelance artist-designer.
The Computer Information Systems (CIS) courses required by this program are not applicable if taken more than eight years prior to the completion of the certificate program. All other Required Courses must be completed before registering for CIS288.
The total amount of credits required for this certificate is 35. Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all courses within the program.
