Associate in Applied Science in Law Enforcement Technology
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Law Enforcement Technology program is designed to provide participants with up-to-date, industry-specific training that will enhance their professional opportunities. Courses are also designed to teach participants how to handle the challenges of the law enforcement profession.
This program will explain the relationship between branches of government and the various components of the criminal justice system, outline the criminal justice process, from arrest to final disposition, identify characteristics of ethical police behavior, identify and describe techniques and procedures to be used in investigation of specific crimes, explain law enforcement considerations when dealing with juvenile offenders, victimless crimes, gangs, and crimes against children, define and describe in detail law enforcement terms and concepts presented in state statutes, and apply terms and principles in state statutes to simulated scenarios.
The total number of credits required for this degree is 64. Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all courses within the program.
