Program Details

The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Dental Office Management program provides students with an understanding of both applied practice and front office management. In addition, students gain knowledge in insurance practices, billing, and budget development. The overall educational objective of the program is to provide students with the opportunity to train for work in the dental industry.

Coursework is designed to fully familiarize students with chair-side procedures, patient care and satisfaction and clinical and administrative routines of a dental practice. The Associate degree portion of the program in particular serves to further expose students to business management fundamentals to help expand each graduate’s opportunities for employment and advancement. The total number of credits required for this degree is 60.5-63.5. Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all courses within the program.

This program provides students with the opportunity to understand dental assisting concepts and procedures, learn marketable skills in clinical, laboratory and radiologic procedures, and learn the skills to assist administratively in dental offices.

Upon completion of the Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Office Management, graduates will be equipped to enter the dental field where they can work alongside dentists and other healthcare professionals to perform a wide variety of patient care, office and laboratory related duties.
